The 2020 Pantone colour of the year is Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052), an enduring hue that, according to Pantone, highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.

“Classic Blue is a complimentary backdrop for a wide range of floral trends, from jewel-toned blooms to cool-coloured succulents and shade loving plants,” says Janan Alles, A.M.A.’s growing container expert. “As the horticulture market mirrors homeware trends, we’re also seeing an increasing interest in soft neutral tones, so this rich, deep blue is a perfect accent colour.
“Speaking personally,” she continues, “I just really love the colour blue. Sailing on Lake Erie is my hobby, so anything that invokes the water is good with me!”
