Facing Tariffs Together: A Statement to Growers & Partners

Today, the United States government implemented a 25% tariff on the import of Canadian goods. This declaration has given the Canadian government little choice but to respond in kind, with 25% retaliatory tariffs on the import of U.S. goods into Canada.

No one wants this. Many are feeling grief, anger, and disbelief. And many will be deeply and negatively impacted by this decision. At A.M.A., we have spent over forty years cultivating strong and cherished relationships with customers and suppliers on both sides of the border. Now, in the face of this news, we want you to know that we are committed to staying true to our values: being a true partner to our customers, standing behind great products and people, and delivering solutions for your success.

Currently, this situation remains fluid and volatile. We will continue working closely with our inbound and outbound customs brokers, government regulators and others to understand the scope of the tariffs and their full implications, including processes and products that will be affected. We are also working to understand any necessary adjustments to our invoicing and accounting.

As the situation evolves, we are committed to keeping you apprised of any changes that will impact our business together, and being transparent about how and why those changes may be made. We will share information via our blog, social media and newsletter. If you have any questions in the meantime, we will do our very best to answer them – even if that answer is, we don’t know yet.
