We stand with growers as tariff talks continue
On Saturday, February 1st, U.S. President, Donald Trump, shocked neighbours and allies on both sides of the border by declaring that an unprecedented 25% tariff on the import of Canadian goods would go into effect on Tuesday, February 4th. Just hours before that deadline, Canada and the U.S. agreed on a 30-day temporary pause to the promised tariffs.
This is welcome news. No one wants this. And as we proceed through the coming month, we want our customers to know that we stand with you, staying true to our values: being a true partner to our customers, standing behind great products and people, and delivering solutions for your success.
We will continue following news, and working closely with our inbound and outbound customs brokers and accounting partners to understand the scope of the proposed tariffs and their full implications, including processes and products that could be affected. As of now, none of our products will be impacted by tariffs.
Should this situation escalate, we are committed to keeping our customers apprised of any changes that will impact our business together, and being transparent about how and why those changes may be made. We will share information via our blog, social media and newsletter. If you have any questions in the meantime, we will do our very best to answer them – even if that answer is, we don’t know yet.
For American growers, whatever the outcome, we will continue to serve you with the same helpful, reliable service you have come to know from our team.
For Canadian growers, we proudly offer a wide selection of top-quality products from our partners in Canada, as well as Europe and the UK, and continue to build strong partnerships with our U.S. suppliers. Our knowledgeable team is committed to help you navigate and make the right selections for your needs.
Grateful for the pause to let cooler heads prevail, we hope that our two great nations can come to a fast and fair agreement that will close this unprecedented chapter in our shared history.
Thank you for your continued support of A.M.A. Horticulture.
Sincerely,
Connie & Rick Bradt,
