Growers in Canada now have access to an innovative, organic soil amendment that’s improving soil quality and producing healthier plants. A.M.A.Horticulture Inc. is thrilled to supply Canadian customers with TerraVesco® Vermicompost – the first vermicompost solution of its kind available north of the border.
TerraVesco Vermicompost is a horticultural grade soil amendment that is enabling growers to naturally accelerate the quality, fertility and biodiversity of the soil. TerraVesco’s proprietary production process uses pre-composted organic dairy manure to eliminate weed seeds and harmful pathogens. Millions of red wiggler worms convert the manure into an organic soil amendment that is consistent in texture and performance from batch to batch. It is CDFA-certified and OMRI-listed in Canada and the USA.
Grounded in agricultural science, TerraVesco Vermicompost promotes increased nutrient uptake, enhanced root mass and stem calipers, improved transplant success, disease suppression, and healthier, more resilient plants. It has been tested by university researchers, the United States Department of Agriculture and – most importantly – by growers.
“We started using this innovative soil amendment to produce Ellepots by A.M.A. for California wine grape and tree nut growers more than five years ago, and we’ve seen the benefits first hand,” said Rick Bradt, Managing Director, A.M.A. Horticulture Inc. “We are thrilled to share it with our customers in Canada as a soil amendment that can be used in organic and conventional growing environments.”

TerraVesco Vermicompost is versatile and can be used during all phases of the growth cycle. Cannabis and other crop growers are using it during propagation. Grape and tree nut growers are placing it directly in the transplant hole during the planting process and using it for top dressing around established plants and trees. Nurseries and landscapers are blending it into potting mixes and flower beds. No matter the use, growers are seeing the same result: healthier, more resilient plants.
“Sustainable solutions like TerraVesco Vermicompost are helping our industry move away from chemical-based products while continuing to drive high yields, high quality products and strong bottom lines,” said Connie Bradt-Monsma, Managing Director, A.M.A. Horticulture Inc. “We’re proud to bring this solution to Canada to help cultivate the future of horticulture.”
